MLS: Timbers Blow Two-Goal Lead At Home, Settle For Cascadia Cup Draw With Sounders; Hoops, DCU, Reds Grab Saturday Wins; Impact-Red Bulls, Fire-Philly Battle To 2-2 Draws; Goose Eggs For SKC And RSL In MLS Cup Final Rematch

Eight games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Portland, Oregon:

In the year's first Cascadia Cup contest, Clint Dempsey delivered a hat trick (24', 85', PK-87') as the Seattle Sounders came back from two goals down to gain a 4-4 road draw with the Portland Timbers.  Kenny Cooper opened the scoring for the Sounders in the third minute.  Diego Chara scored twice for the Timbers (9', 55') while Diego Valeri (14') and Maximiliano Urruti (57') each added a goal for the still winless-hosts.

At Montreal:

Felipe Martins Campanholi delivered the equalizer in the 59th minute as the Montreal Impact salvaged a 2-2 home draw with the New York Red Bulls.  Andres Romero scored for the hosts in the fifth minute.  Just past the half hour, the Red Bulls' goals came from Jonny Steele (31') and Pegguy Luyindula (34)

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Goals from Mike Magee (16') and Juan Anangono (86') enabled the Chicago Fire to salvage a 2-2 home draw with the Philadelphia Union.  The guests' goals came courtesy of Mauric Edu (32') and Leonardo Fernandes (39').

At Columbus, Ohio:

Michael Bradley (11') and Issey Nakajima-Farran (85') each delivered a goal as Toronto FC blanked the previously unbeaten and untied  Columbus Crew 2-0 on the road.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Jose Mari scored twice late in the second half (79', 81') as the Colorado Rapids came from behind to upend the home-standing Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1.

At Washington:

Goals from Jose Goncalves (OG-43') and the newly-arrived Chris Rolfe (90'+3) carried DC United to their first win of the season, 2-0 over the visiting New England Revolution as their 15-match winless streak came to an end.

At Houston:

Je-Vaughn Watson scored twice (61', 70') as FC Dallas dominated the Houston Dynamo 4-1 on the road.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

In a rematch of last December's MLS Cup final, Sporting Kansas City and visiting Real Salt Lake battled to a 0-0 stalemate.
