MLS: RSL Top Sounders, Move To Top Of West Standings; Impact, Crew, SKC, Hoops Win; Timbers And Revs Draw; Goose Eggs For Coats and 'Caps Before Tiny Crowd

Seven games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Sandy, Utah:

Joao Plata (53') and Luke Mulholland (57') delivered the second-half scoring four minutes apart as Real Salt Lake climbed back up to the top of the Western Conference standings following their 2-1 home victory over the Seattle Sounders.

At Montreal:

Marco Di Vaio scored the only goal of the match in the 84th minute as the Montreal Impact knocked off the visiting Chicago Fire 1-0.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Liam Ridgewell's first MLS goal in the 65th minute lifted the Portland Timbers to a 1-1 road draw with the New England Revolution.  Charlie Davies scored for the hosts in the 27th minute.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Ethan Finlay scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 33rd minute as the Columbus Crew dominated the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 4-1.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Dom Dwyer successfully converted two first-half penalty kicks (18', 33') as Sporting Kansas City dominated visiting Toronto FC 4-1.

At Carson, California:

Before a crowd of 4,215 fans at the StubHub Center, the Vancouver Whitecaps held slumping Chivas USA to a 0-0 stalemate.

At Santa Clara, California:

Tesho Akindele delivered a hat trick (43', 58', 86') while Fabian Castillo added a double (30', 74') as FC Dallas destroyed the San Jose Earthquakes 5-0 on the road.
