CLINT DEMPSEY SCORES WINNING GOAL IN OT AS SOUNDERS TOP PHILLY TO CAPTURE 4TH US OPEN CUP TITLE

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Goals from Chad Barrett (47'), Clint Dempsey (101'), and Obafemi Martins (114') enabled the Seattle Sounders to bounce back from behind to defeat the home-standing Philadelphia Union 3-1 in overtime to win the final of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament on Tuesday.

The Sounders, who won their fourth US Open Cup title in their six seasons of Major League Soccer existence, have qualified for the group stage of the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League as a result.
