CONCACAF Champions League: DC United, Timbers, Cruz Azul Grab Tuesday Wins

Three games were played on Tuesday as CONCACAF Champions League group-stage action resumed.

Group Four:

At Kingston, Jamaica:

Fabian Espindola scored twice (38', 50') as DC United all but locked up a berth in the quarterfinal round with a 2-1 road win over Waterhouse FC, who concluded group-stage play.  DC United would need only one draw from two contests against Panama's Tauro FC to win Group Four and advance to the quarterfinals.

GROUP FOUR STANDINGS:

1. DC United (GP: 2; GD: +2; PTS: 6)
2. Waterhouse FC (GP: 2; GD: +2; PTS: 6)
3. Tauro FC (GP: 2; GD: -4; PTS: 0)



Group Five:

At Portland, Oregon:

Maximiliano Urruti scored twice (11', 57') as the Portland Timbers doubled up visiting CD Olimpia 4-2.

GROUP FIVE STANDINGS:

1.    Portland Timbers (GP: 2; GD: +5; PTS: 6)
2.    CD Olimpia (GP: 2; GD: +5; PTS: 6)
3. z-Alpha United (GP: 3; GD: -10; PTS: 0)

z-Eliminated from tournament



Group Six:

At Mexico City:

Mauro Formica (15'), Ismael Valadez (34'), and Marco Fabian (PK-90'+5) each delivered a goal as Cruz Azul dominated visiting Chorrillo FC 3-0.
