Europa League

Thursday saw the resumption of Europa League group-stage action with 24 games.

Group A:

At Zurich, Switzerland:

Havard Nordtveit's equalizer in the 26th minute lifted Borussia Monchengladbach to a 1-1 road draw with FC Zurich.  Franck Etoundi scored in the 23rd minute for the hosts.

At Villarreal, Spain:

Gerard Moreno (9', 82') and Javier Espinosa (44', 51') each scored twice, once in each half, as Villarreal demolished visiting Apollon Limassol 4-0.
