MLS: A Six-Save Night For Nick Rimando Carries RSL To Scoreless Road Draw With Timbers

At Portland, Oregon:

In the lone Friday Major League Soccer contest, goalkeeper Nick Rimando made six saves to help Real Salt Lake gain a 0-0 scoreless deadlock on the road against the Portland Timbers.

RSL, who already locked up a playoff berth, find themselves two points ahead of FC Dallas for third place in the Western Conference standings while the Timbers, now with one regular-season match left (next Saturday at FC Dallas), find themselves level with Vancouver for the Western Conference's fifth and final playoff berth (which Portland technically holds due to superior goal differential).  The Whitecaps will visit already-eliminated San Jose Saturday night in the Earthquakes final game at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
