CFU Club Championship Begins

Six games were played on Wednesday as the opening round of the CFU Club Championship commenced.

GROUP ONE:

All games in this group are being played at National Stadium in Providence, Guyana.

Daniel Wilson (26'), Gregory Richardson (56'), and Kithson Bain (90') each delivered a goal as host club Alpha United dominated visiting Inter Moengotapoe from Suriname 3-0.

Group One Standings:

1. Alpha United FC (Guyana) (GP: 1; GD: +3; PTS: 3)
2. Central FC (Trinidad and Tobago) (GP: 0; GD: 0; PTS: 0)
3. Inter Moengotapoe (Suriname) (GP: 1; GD: -3; PTS: 0)



GROUP TWO:

All games in this group are being played at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.

The originally-scheduled match between Antigua and Barbuda's SAP FC and Jamaica's Waterhouse FC was cancelled due to the Jamaican club's withdrawal from the tournament due to financial problems.

In the one contest that was played, Hashim Arcia delivered a hat trick (35', 47', 81') and Shahdon Winchester added a double (23', 28') as host club W Connection destroyed the Guyana Defence Force 7-1.

Group Two Standings:

1.     W Connection (Trinidad and Tobago) (GP: 1; GD: +6; PTS: 3)
2.     SAP FC (Antigua and Barbuda) (GP: 0; PTS: 0; PTS: 0)
3.     Guyana Defence Force (GP: 1; GD: -6; PTS: 0)

GROUP THREE:

All games in this group are being played at Complexe Sportif des Cayes in Les Cayes, Haiti.  Two games took place on Wednesday.

In the opener, Montego Bay United defeated CS Moulien of Guadeloupe 1-0.

In the nightcap, hosts America des Cayes doubled up Suriname's SV Excelsior 4-2.

Group Three Standings:

1. America des Cayes (Haiti) (GP: 1; GD: +2; PTS: 3)
2. Montego Bay United FC (Jamaica ) (GP: 1; GD: +1: PTS: 3)
3. CS Moulien (Guadeloupe) (GP: 1; GD: -1; PTS: 0)
4. SV Excelsior (Suriname) (GP: 1; GD: -2; PTS: 0)



GROUP FOUR:

All games in this group are being played at Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  Two of the contests took place on Wednesday.

In the opener, USR Sainte-Rose gained a 2-2 draw with Helenites  from the United States Virgin Islands.

In the nightcap, hosts Don Bosco annihilated Lyford Cay Dragons FC from the Bahamas 10-0.

Group Four Standings:

1. Don Bosco FC (Haiti) (GP: 1; GD: +10; PTS: 3)
2. Helenites (US Virgin Islands) (GP: 1; GD: 0; PTS: 1)
3. USR Sainte-Rose (Guadeloupe) (GP: 1: GD: 0; PTS: 1)
4. Lyford Cay Dragons FC (Bahamas) (GP: 1; GD: -10; PTS: 0)

The four group winners would advance to the semifinal round (both games will be played on May 22) with the winners advancing to the final and the losers to play in the third-place game, both of those contests are set for May 24.  Both finalists and the winner of the third-place game would qualify for the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League.
