Matias Laba scored the winning goal in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time on Wednesday as the Vancouver Whitecaps knocked off FC Edmonton 2-1 on the road in the second game of an Amway Canadian Championship semifinal series and ousted the NASL club 3-2 on aggregate.
The Whitecaps will take on the Montreal Impact in the two-match final set for this coming August, with the winner advancing to the 2016-17 CONCACAF Champions League.
