At Montreal:
Jack McInerney scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute on Wednesday as the Montreal Impact blanked visiting Toronto FC 1-0 in the opening game of their Amway Canadian Championship semifinal series.
The other semifinal series opener that had been scheduled for Wednesday, the match between the Vancouver Whitecaps and FC Edmonton (NASL) was postponed due to snow in the Alberta capital.
Next Wednesday's match, set to be played in Vancouver, will now be the series opener, with the return contest to be played in Edmonton on May 20.
