Rafael Sobis' penalty kick in the 75th minute enabled Tigres to gain a 1-1 game-two home draw with Universitario as the hosts won their two-match series 3-2 on aggregate.
At La Plata, Argentina:
Guido Carrillo scored the winning goal in the 29th minute as Estudiantes held off visiting Independiente Santa Fe 2-1 in opening match of their two-game series. Wilson Morelo's road goal in the 80th minute kept the Colombian club in the series.
