MLS: Red Bulls, Timbers Overpower Rivals

Two games were played in Major League Soccer on Sunday.

At New York:

Bradly Wright-Phillips (46'), Chris Duvall (52'), and Matt Miazga (73') delivered the second-half goals as the New York Red Bulls defeated New York City 3-1 on the road.

At Portland, Oregon:

Fenendo Adi scored twice (74', 76') during a two-minute span as the Portland Timbers bounced back from their mid-week StubHub Center debacle and overpowered the visiting Seattle Sounders 4-1 in a Cascadia Cup clash.
