Copa Libertadores: Brazil Eliminated On Controversial Goal (Peru Will Face Colombia Next); Ecuador Smash Haiti For Right To Face Team USA

Sunday saw the conclusion of Group B play in the Copa America with two games.

At East Rutherford, New Jersey:

Enner Valencia (11'), Jaime Ayovi (20'), Christian Noboa (57'), and Antonio Valencia (78') each tallied once as Ecuador demolished Haiti 4-0 to clinch second place in Group B and set themselves up for a quarterfinal-round match in Seattle on Thursday against the United States.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts:

Raul Ruidiaz was credited with a controversial goal in the 75th minute as Peru knocked off Brazil 1-0 to win Group B (and get themselves a crack at Colombia in a quarterfinal-round match this Friday at East Rutherford, New Jersey) as the Samba Kings have been eliminated.

Final Group B Standings:

1. Peru (GP: 3; GD: +2; PTS: 7)
2. Ecuador (GP: 3; GD: +4; PTS: 5)
3. Brazil (GP: 3; GD: +5; PTS: 4)
4. Haiti (GP: 3; GD: -11; PTS: 0)

Peru and Ecuador advanced to the quarterfinal round.
