UEFA Champions League, Group E: Horses Battle Back For Road Draw; Monaco Knock Off Spurs In London

Two games were played on Wednesday as action from Group E of the UEFA Champions League commenced, with the hosts listed first, and all kickoff times set for 11:45 AM Pacific Time.

At Leverkusen, Germany:

Alan Dzagoev (36') and Roman Eremenko (38') each scored a goal two minutes apart as CSKA Moscow overcame a two-goal deficit and gained a 2-2 road draw with Bayer Leverkusen.  Admir Mehmedi (9') and Hakan Calhanoglu (15') each scored in the first quarter-hour for the hosts.  Here, we see Leverkusen's Kevin Volland (right) heading the ball besides the Horses' Georgi Schennikov.

At London:

Thomas Lemar (that's him celebrating with teammates after scoring) scored the winning goal in the 31st minute as AS Monaco knocked off Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on the road.

NOTE:  CSKA Moscow gained a 2-2 road draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
