Europa League Round of 16: Man U, Black Eagles, Genk, Schalke, Ajax Advance To Quarterfinals

Eight games were contested on Thursday as the Europa League's Round of 16 concluded.

At Krasnodar, Russia:

Hugo Mallo (62') and Iago Aspas (80') each scored once as Celta Vigo blanked FC Krasnodar 2-0 in game two and eliminated the Russian club 4-1 on aggregate.

At Brussels, Belgium:

Frank Acheampong scored the only goal of the match in the 65th minute as RSC Anderlecht registered a second 1-0 victory over APOEL FC, that time at home, and finished off the Cypriot club 2-0 on aggregate.

At Monchengladbach, Germany:

Leon Goretzka (54') and Nabil Bentaleb (PK-68') as FC Schalke gained a 2-2 game-two road draw with Borussia Monchengladbach and ousted their fellow German Bundesliga club on away goals with the aggregate score at 3-3.Mouc

At Rome:

Mouctar Diakhaby scored what proved to be the series-winning goal in the 16th minute as Lyon, despite dropping a 2-1 game-two road decision to AS Roma, won their series 5-4 on aggregate.

At Manchester, England:

Juan Mata scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute as Manchester United defeated visiting FC Rostov 1-0 in game two and eliminated the Russian club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Ryan Babel scored twice (22', 75') as Besiktas dominated visiting Olympiacos 4-1 in game two and ousted the Greek club 5-2 on aggregate.

At Genk, Belgium:

Timothy Castagne scored in the 20th minute for KRC Genk as the hosts gained a 1-1 game-two draw with fellow Belgian club KAA Gent and won their two-match series 6-3 on aggregate.

At Amsterdam, Netherlands:

Bertrand Traore (23') and Kasper Dolberg (PK-45'+3) each scored once as Ajax Amsterdam overcame their series-opening road defeat with a 2-0 home blanking of FC Copenhagen in game two and took out the Danish club 2-1 on aggregate.
