MLS: Hoops Knock Off Galaxy On Road; Dynamo Spoil Opening Of Sounders' Title Defense; 1-0 Home Wins For Rapids, Quakes On Three-Draw Saturday

Seven games were on the Major League Soccer itinerary for the opening Saturday of the regular season.

At Columbus, Ohio:

David Accam's equalizer in the 73rd minute lifted the Chicago Fire to a 1-1 road draw with the Columbus Crew.  Ethan Finlay scored for the hosts in the 17th minute.

At Carson, California:

Kellyn Acosta scored the winning goal in the 69th minute as FC Dallas knocked off the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-1 on the road.

At Sandy, Utah:

Real Salt Lake and visiting Toronto FC battled to the season's first 0-0 MLS stalemate.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Dominique Badji used his noggin in scoring the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute as the Colorado Rapids defeated the visiting New England Revolution 1-0.

At Washington:

DC United and visiting Sporting Kansas City battled to a 0-0 deadlock.

At Houston:

Erick Cubo Torres (20') and Romell Quioto (42') each scored once in the first half as the Houston Dynamo spoil to start of the Seattle Sounders' MLS Cup title defense with a 2-1 home victory.

At San Jose, California:

Anibel Godoy delivered the only goal of the match in the 17th minute as the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the visiting Montreal Impact 1-0.
