UEFA Champions League: Monaco, Mattress Makers, Galacticos

Three games were played in the quarterfinal round of the UEFA Champions League.

At Dortmund, Germany:

Kylian Mbappe scored twice (19', 79') as AS Monaco knocked off Borussia Dortmund 3-2 on the road in the opening match of their two-game series.  This was the contest that was postponed from Tuesday due to a bomb blast near the Dortmund team bus.  Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, shown here, is seen wearing a t-shirt (translated in English to "A lot of strength--we are with you") in support of injured teammate Marc Barta, who was injured in the explosion.

At Madrid:

Antoine Griezmann delivered the game's only goal with his successfully-converted penalty kick at 28 minutes as Atletico Madrid defeated visiting Leicester City 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.  Here's a gesture from the home-standing Mattress Makers' head coach Diego Simeone.

At Munich, Germany:

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice (47', 77') as Real Madrid came from behind to upend Bayern Munich 2-1 on the road in the opening contest of their two-match series.  Here's ol' Cristiano (right) battling Bayern's Juan Bernat for the ball.
