MLS: Citizens, The ATL, Philly, Crew, Fire, SKC, Quakes Rack Up Saturday Wins; Loons Battle Back To Gain 2-2 Home Draw With Caps

Eight games were on the Major League Soccer schedule for Saturday.

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Jack Harrison (33') and Ben Sweat (65') each scored once as New York City defeated the New York Red Bulls 2-0 on the road.  It was the Citizens' first ever win over the Red Bulls in New Jersey.

At Atlanta:

Josef Martinez scored the only goal in the 67th minute as Atlanta United defeated the visiting Colorado Rapids 1-0.

At Chester, Pennsylvania:

Fabrice Picault scored the game's lone goal in the 31st minute as the Philadelphia Union snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 home win over DC United.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Federico Higuain scored twice (19', 88') as the Columbus Crew overpowered the visiting Montreal Impact 4-1.

At Minneapolis:

Francisco Calvo (50') and Jerome Thiesson (63') each scored a second-half goal to help Minnesota United wipe out a two-goal deficit and gain a 2-2 home draw with Vancouver.  Cristian Techera (PK-17') and Tony Tchani (45'+2) each scored a first-half goal for the visiting Whitecaps.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

David Accam produced his first career hat trick (3', 8', 63') as the Chicago Fire scorched visiting Orlando City 4-0.

At Carson, California:

Roger Espinoza (22') and Ike Opara (35') each scored once as Sporting Kansas City knocked off the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-1 on the road.

At San Jose, California:

Danny Hoesen (13') and Marco Urena (68') each produced a goal as the San Jose Earthquakes held off visiting Real Salt Lake 2-1.
