US Open Cup: DCU, Rapids, Sounders Win At Home And Advance To Round Of 16

This is the week that all 19 US-based Major League Soccer clubs make their first appearances in this year's edition of the US Open Cup tournament.  The fourth round commenced on Tuesday with three games.

At Boyds, Maryland:

Lloyd Buescher scored twice (35', 90') and assisted twice (on goals from Lloyd Sam in the 81st minute and Ian Harkes in the second minute of second-half stoppage time) as DC United finished off the tournament's last remaining amateur club, the USASA's Christos FC 4-1.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Dominique Badji (49'), Eric Miller (66'), and Dennis Castillo (89') each scored once as the Colorado Rapids came back from two goals down to upend the visiting Oklahoma City Energy from the USL 3-2.

At Tukwila, Washington:

Zack Mathers successfully converted his penalty kick in the 54th minute for the game-winning goal as the Seattle Sounders held off the visiting Portland Timbers 2-1.
