MLS: Fire, Hoops, Impact, ATL Utd, Rapids, Quakes Pick Up Saturday Wins; Timbers and SKC Draw

Seven games were contested in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Nemanja Nikolic scored twice (14', 18') as the Chicago Fire demolished the visiting ten-man Vancouver Whitecaps 4-0 to move to the top of both the Eastern Conference and Supporters' Shield standings.

At Frisco, Texas:

Roland Lamah scored twice (5', 21') as FC Dallas dominated visiting Toronto FC 4-1.

At Kansas City, Kansas:

Daniel Salloi's equalizer in the 60th minute lifted Sporting Kansas City to a 1-1 home draw with the Portland Timbers.  Diego Valeri, who scored for the Timbers in the 26th minute, had his penalty kick in the 74th minute saved by SKC's goalkeeper Tim Melia.

At Montreal:

Blemir Dzemaili (21') and Chris Duvall (23') each scored a goal in the first half-hour two minutes apart as the Montreal Impact blanked visiting DC United 2-0.

At Columbus, Ohio:

Hector Villalba scored both goals (27', 64') in Atlanta United's 2-0 road win over the Columbus Crew.

At Commerce City, Colorado:

Marlon Hairston scored twice (48', 69') as the Colorado Rapids downed the visiting Houston Dynamo 3-1.

At Palo Alto, California:

Chris Wondolowski (75') and Shea Salinas (90'+4) each scored once as the San Jose Earthquakes came from behind to knock off the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy 2-1 in the latest edition of the California Classico.
