UEFA Champions League, Group D: Barca Lock Up Berth In Knockout Stage; Lions Stay Alive

Two Group D games in the UEFA Champions League were contested on Wednesday.

At Turin, Italy:
A 0-0 road stalemate with Juventus clinched a berth in the knockout stage of the tournament---and lock up top spot in Group D for Barcelona.  Veteran Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon waves to the fans at the conclusion of the match.

At Lisbon, Portugal:
Bas Dost scored twice (40', 66') as Sporting CP stayed alive in the tournament by defeating Olymiacos 4-1, knocking the Greek club out of European competition.  Here's the hometown Lions' Bruno Cesar (left) scoring his team's other goal in the 43rd minute as The Legend's Bjoern Engels (center) and Leonardo Koutris (right) challenge fruitlessly.
