Europa League Quarterfinals: Leipzig, Gunners, Mattress Makers, Young Eagles Post Series-Opening Home Wins

The Europa League's quarterfinal round opened with four games on Thursday.

At Leipzig, Germany:

Timo Werner scored the only goal of the match in the opening minute of first-half stoppage time as RB Leipzig defeated visiting Marseille 1-0 in their series opener.

At London:

Aaron Ramsey (9', 28') and Alexandre Lacazette (PK-23', 35') each scored twice in the first half as Arsenal dominated visiting CSKA Moscow 4-1 in their series-opening contest.

At Madrid:

Koke (1') and Antoine Guiezmann (40') each scored a goal as Atletico Madrid opened their two-game series by blanking visiting Sporting CP 2-0.

At Rome:

Felipe Anderson scored the winning goal in the 74th minute as Lazio opened their series by doubling up visiting FC Red Bull Salzburg 4-2.
