MLS: Hoops Blank Caps In Vancouver; Crew And Galaxy Draw; Reds And Timbers Too

Three games were played in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.

At Columbus, Ohio:

In their first match since the August 5 passing of midfielder Kirk Urso, the Columbus Crew battled the visiting Los Angeles Galaxy to a 1-1 stalemate.  Jairo Arrieta scored in the 48th minute for the Crew, while Robbie Keane equalized for the guests in the 64th minute.

At Toronto:

With goals from Sal Zizzo (21') and Darlington Nagbe (82'), their first scores on the road since April 14, ended an MLS-record 699 consecutive minutes without tallying a goal away from home, the Portland Timbers, still searching for their first road win of the season, picked up their first point away from Jeld-Wen field since May 15 with a 2-2 draw with Toronto FC.  Eric Hassli (57') and Luis Silva (63') provided the goals for the Reds.

At Vancouver, British Columbia:

Fabian Castillo (60') and Jonathan Top (70') each tallied once as FC Dallas blanked the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 on the road.
