After a game-two 1-1 draw between Al-Ahly and visiting Coton Sport, which squared their two-game CAF Champions League semifinal series at 2-2 on aggregate, 30 scoreless minutes of overtime were played on Sunday. In the penalty-kick shootout, Walid Soliman, Wael Gomaa, Shehab El-Din Ahmed, Sayed Moawad, Mahmoud Trzeguet, Mohamed Nagieb, and Ahmed Fathy all converted their spot kicks as Al-Ahly won the shootout 7-6 to advance to the Champions League final, which opens November 1-3 in Johannesburg against Orlando Pirates, with the return contest to take place November 8-10 in Egypt. The winner would play in December's FIFA Club World Cup, which would take place in Morocco.

CAF Champions League: Orlando Pirates Knock Off Esperance de Tunis In Tunisia, Clinch Berth In Final
At Rades, Tunisia:
Rooi Mahamutsa scored the series-winning goal in the 52nd minute on Saturday as Orlando Pirates gained a 1-1 game-two road draw with Esperance de Tunis and, with the aggregate score at 1-1, won their two-match CAF Champions League semifinal series on away goals.
The South African club will face the winner of the Al-Ahly-Coton Sport series (to be decided on Sunday in El Gouna, Egypt, with the aggregate score at 1-1) in the two-match final, which will start weekend after next at Johannesburg, South Africa.
This marks the first time since 2001 (when Mamelodi Sundowns lost 4-1 on aggregate to Al-Ahly) that a South African club had reached the final of this tournament. The Pirates delivered South Africa's only continental club championship when they defeated ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast 3-2 on aggregate back in 1995.

CAF Champions League: Al-Ahly, Zamalek Advance To Group Stage
Three games were played on Sunday as the second round of the CAF Champions League came to a close.
At Addis Ababa, Ethiopia:
Abdoulaye Cisse scored twice (2', 87') as Zamalek gained a 2-2 game-two road draw with Saint George, and with the aggregate score at 3-3, the Egyptian club advanced to the group stage on road goals.
At Cairo, Egypt:
Emad Moteab scored the game and series-winning goal in the 63rd minute as Al-Ahly held off visiting CA Bizertin 2-1 in game two and by that same score on aggregate.
At Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo:
Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two decision on the road to TP Mazembe, South Africa's Orlando Pirates still won their two-match series 3-2 on the road.

CAF Champions League: Esperance ST, Sewe Sport Advance To Group Stage
Four more clubs advanced to the group stage of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
At Rades, Tunisia:
At Khalil Chamman's penalty kick in the 77th minute proved to be the only goal of both the game and two-match series as Esperance ST defeated visiting JSM Bejaia 1-0 in game two and on aggregate to advance to the group stage.
At Calulo, Angola:
Recreativo do Libolo took game two of their series with Enugu Rangers 3-1 at home and the series by that same score on aggregate.
At Abidjan, Ivory Coast:
A 0-0 home stalemate with FUS Rabat proved good enough for Sewe Sport as the Ivorian club, with the aggregate score at 1-1, advanced on away goals.
At Bamako, Mali:
A 0-0 road draw in game two with Stade Malien proved more than good enough for Coton Sport as the club from Cameroon won their two-game series 3-0 on aggregate.
All of the clubs eliminated on Saturday will play in the CAF Confederation Cup's playoff round.
