UEFA Champions League, Group C: Olympiacos To Join PSG In UCL Knockout Stage; Eagles To Europa League

Two games were played on Tuesday as Group C action in the UEFA Champions League came to a close.

At Lisbon, Portugal:
Goals from Rodrigo Jose Lima dos Santos (PK-45', shown here) and Nicolas Gaitan (58') enabled SL Benfica to come from behind to top visiting Paris Saint-Germain.  The win wasn't enough, though, for the Eagles as Olympiacos' victory over Anderlecht consigned the Portugese club to the Europa League's knockout stage.

At Piraeus, Greece:
Javier Saviola scored twice (33', 58', that's him) against his former team as Olympiacos laid claim to a Champions League knockout-stage berth with a 3-1 home win over RSC Anderlecth.

1. Paris Saint-Germian (GP: 6; GD: +11; PTS: 13)
2. Olympiacos (GP: 6; GD: +2; PTS: 10)

UEFA Champions League, Group C: PSG Clinch Group Title; Critical Win For Eagles; Anderlecht Out Of European Competition

Two game in Group C of the UEFA Champions League were contested on Wednesday.

At Brussels, Belgium:

Rodrigo Moreno Machado scored the winning goal in the 90th minute as SL Benfica remained very much alive in the race for a Champions League knockout-stage berth with a 3-2 road win over RSC Anderlecht, eliminating the hosts from European competition.  Here's the Eagles' Nemanja Matic using his noggin (he scored in the 34th minute).

At Paris:
Paris St-Germain's Edinson Cavani celebrates with team mates after scoring a late winner (Reuters)
Edinson Cavani scored the winning goal in the 90th minute as ten-man Paris Saint-Germain, already bound for the knockout stage, clinched the Group C title with a 2-1 home win over Olympiacos.  Yep, that's ol' Edinson being mobbed by teammates after he scored his late winner.

UEFA Champions League, Group C: Zlatan's Equalizer Salvages Home Draw For PSG; Olympiacos Closer To Clinching Knockout-Stage Berth

Action from Group C of the UEFA Champions League resumed on Tuesday with two games.

At Paris:

Zlatan Irahimovic delivered the equalizer (shown here as Anderlecht goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski watched helplessly) in the 70th minute as group-topping Paris Saint-Germain placed RSC Anderlecht on the cusp of elimination with a 1-1 home draw.  Demy de Zeeuw scored for the Belgian club with his goal in the 68th minute, just two minutes before Zlatan's equalizer.

At Piraeus, Greece:

Kostas Manolas (that's him celebrating) scored the only goal of the match in the 13th minute as Olympiacos gained sole possession of second place in Group C with their 1-0 home win over SL Benfica.

UEFA Champions League, Group C: Zlatan Becomes One-Man Wrecking Crew For PSG; Eagles And Legend Battle To 1-1 Draw In Lisbon

Two games in Group C of the UEFA Champions League were contested on Wednesday.

At Brussels, Belgium:

A four-goal performance (17', 22', 36', 62', that's him celebrating) played a huge part in Paris Saint-Germain's 5-0 road destruction of RSC Anderlecht.


At Lisbon, Portugal:

Two games in Group C of the UEFA Champions League were contested on Wednesday.

At Paris:

Zlatan Ibrahimovic doubled (5', 31'; yep, that's Zlatan celebrating his opening tally) as Paris Saint-Germain scored all the goals in their 3-0 home domination of SL Benfica.

At Brussels, Belgium:

Konstantinos Mitroglou's natural hat trick (17', 56', 72'; yep, that's him here) in Olympiacos' 3-0 road beatdown of RSC Anderlecht.

UEFA Champions League, Group C: Rousing Wins For Benfica, PSG

Two games were played on Tuesday as action from Group C of the UEFA Champions League got under way.

At Lisbon, Portugal:
Filip Djuricic (reuters)

Filip Duricic (4', that's him celebrating) and Luisao (30') each delivered a goal as SL Benfica blanked visiting RSC Anderlecht 2-0.

At Piraeus, Greece:thiago motta (Reuters)
Thiago Motta scored twice (68', 73', that's him [left] celebrating) as Paris Saint-Germain manhandled Olympiacos 4-1 on the road.
