Mariano Pavone scored in the 41st minute on Wednesday as Cruz Azul gained a 1-1 game-two road draw in the CONCACAF Champions League final against fellow Mexican club Toluca and, with the series at 1-1 on aggregate, won their first CONCACAF club championship since 1997 and their sixth overall.
The Mexico City-based club will play in December's FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.
