CRUZ AZUL DEFEAT TOLUCA TO WIN 6TH CONCACAF TOURNAMENT TITLE

At Toluca, Mexico:

Mariano Pavone scored in the 41st minute on Wednesday as Cruz Azul gained a 1-1 game-two road draw in the CONCACAF Champions League final against fellow Mexican club Toluca and, with the series at 1-1 on aggregate, won their first CONCACAF club championship since 1997 and their sixth overall.  

The Mexico City-based club will play in December's FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco.

At Toluca de Lerdo, Mexico:

Richard Ruiz (70') and Dubier Riascos (71') each scored a goal a minute apart in the second half on Sunday as Club Tijuana defeated Toluca 2-0 on the road in game two of Mexico's Liga MX Apertura playoff final and won their two-game series 4-1 on aggregate.

Pablo Aguilar scored the winning goal in the 40th minute on Thursday as Club Tijuana defeated visiting Toluca 2-1 in the opening match of the Mexican Liga MX Apertura playoff final.

Lucas Lobos' equalizer in the 16th minute enabled Tigres to gain a 1-1 Saturday Liga MX home draw with Toluca.  Lucas Silva scored for the visitors in the seventh minute.

Goals from Nestor Calderon (45') and Ivan Alonso (48') enabled Toluca to come from behind and top visiting Tigres 2-1 in Sunday Mexican Primera Division action, enabling the hosts to find themselves atop the league standings (Clausura portion).

Nestor Calderon (71') and Zinha (79') provided the late scoring, enabling Toluca to erase a two-goal deficit on the road to gain a 2-2 Wednesday Mexican Premira Division draw with Tigres.  Hector Raul Mancilla Garcia (14') and Lucas Lobos (60') provided the scoring for the hosts.

In Saturday action from the Mexican Premiera Division, Carlos Esquivel scored the only goal of the match as Toluca defeated Tigres 1-0 on the road.

Late Penalty Kick Gains Point For Tigres

Itamar Batista's successful penalty kick at 89 minutes enabled Tigres to gain a 1-1 road draw with Toluca in Sunday action in the Mexican Premiera Division.  Antonio Rios Martinez scored at 61 minutes for Los Diablos Rojos---the Red Devils.
