1-1 HOME DRAW GOOD ENOUGH FOR GUANGZHOU EVERGRANDE AS CHINESE CLUB WINS FIRST AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CROWN

At Guangzhou, China:

Elkeson scored the series-winning goal in the 58th minute on Saturday as Guangzhou Evergrande gained a 1-1 game-two home draw with FC Seoul, and with the two-match aggregate score at 3-3, won their first AFC Champions League title on away goals.

The mainland Chinese club will play in next month's FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in Morocco.

AFC Champions League: Guangzhou Evergrande Gain Series-Opening 2-2 Road Draw With FC Seoul

At Seoul, South Korea:

Goals from Elkeson (30') and Gao Lin (59') enabled Guangzhou Evergrande to gain a 2-2 draw on the road with FC Seoul in Saturday's opening match of the two-game AFC Champions League.  Sergio Escudero (12') and Dejan Damjanovic (83') provided the scoring for the hosts.

The series will conclude on November 9 at Guangzhou, China.  The winner of the series would advance to December's FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in Morocco.

FC Seoul Claim Season Finale

At Seoul, South Korea:

Dejan Damjanovic (43') and Jo-Gook Jung (58') each scored once as FC Seoul concluded their K-League Championship-round campaign with a 2-1 come-from-behind Sunday home win over Busan I'Park.

FC Seoul, who finished atop the overall league standings, will be joined in the group stage for next year's AFC Champions League by Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Pohang Steelers, and Suwon Samsung Bluewings.

Gwangju FC were relegated to the K-League's second division.

Chan-Ho Cho delivered a natural hat trick on Thursday (27', 30', 64') as the Pohang Steelers ended FC Seoul's K-League winning streak at four games with a 5-0 home demolition of the club that had already clinched the Championship Round title.

Mauricio Molina scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute on Sunday as FC Seoul, who already locked up first place in the K-league's Championship Round standings and a 2013 AFC Champions League group-stage berth, shut out visiting (and second-place) Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 1-0.
