BANTAMS BLANK COBBLERS TO GAIN PROMOTION TO LEAGUE ONE

James Hanson (15'), Rory McArdle (19'), and Nahki Wells (28') each delivered a goal on Saturday during the first half-hour as Bradford City dominated Northampton Town 3-0 in the English League Two promotional playoff final contested at Wembley Stadium.  The Bantams will join Gillingham, Rotherham United, and Port Vale in gaining promotion to League One, the third level of soccer in England.  Barnet (after eight years) and Aldershot Town (after five years, and heading for administration) had already been relegated from the Football League and will play in the Conference's National Division next season.

English League Cup Final: Swans Blast Bradford City To Win First Piece Of Major Silverware

At London:

Nathan Dyer scored twice (16', 48') as Swansea City from the English Premier League demolished League Two club Bradford City 5-0 in Sunday's English League Cup final played at Wembley Stadium.  It was the most lopsided final in the tournament's history and it was the Swans' first major trophy in their 100-year footballing history.  It was the first major English trophy won by a Welsh club since Cardiff City won the FA Cup in 1927.  The victory also locked up a berth in qualifying for next season's Europa League for the Swans.

Alan Connell scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute to lift Bradford City to a 1-1 Saturday English League Two road deadlock with Accrington Stanley, whose goal came in the 73rd minute from Padraig Arnold.

Will Hatfield's second-half stoppage-time equalizer (90'+1) enabled Accrington Stanley to gain a 1-1 English League Two road draw with Bradford City.  Nahki Wells scored in the 50th minute for the Bantams.

Wes Fletcher scored the only goal of the match at 77 minutes on Tuesday as Accrington Stanley racked up their first win of the English League Two campaign 1-0 over visiting Bradford City.
