MLS: Timbers Salvage Cascadia Cup Clash Draw With Sounders; Philly And TFC Also Draw; Saturday Wins For Red Bulls, DCU, Fire, Hoops, Quakes

Seven games were played in Major League Soccer on Saturday.

At Toronto:

Sheanon Williams' equalizer in the 85th minute carried the Philadelphia Union to a 1-1 road draw with Toronto FC.  Eric Hassli scored in the 58th minute for the Reds.

At Portland, Oregon:

Rodney Wallace delivered the game-tying goal in the 78th minute as the Portland Timbers salvaged a 1-1 home Cascadia Cup draw with the Seattle Sounders (whose goal came in the 57th minute courtesy of Fredy Montero).

At Harrison, New Jersey:

Thierry Henry scored twice (9', 90'+3) as the New York Red Bulls defeated the visiting Columbus Crew 3-1.

At Washington:

Chris Pontius (32') and Lewis Neal (63') each scored once as DC United climbed back into the playoff zone with a 2-1 home win over the New England Revolution, eliminating the Revs from playoff contention in the process.

At Bridgeview, Illinois:

Sherjill MacDonald (34'), Alex (61'), and Alvaro Fernandez (80') each tallied once as the Chicago Fire defeated the visiting Montreal Impact 3-1.

At Frisco, Texas:

Julian de Guzman scored the only goal of the match at the death (90'+6) as FC Dallas moved to within one point of the final Western Conference playoff berth with a 1-0 home win over the collapsing Vancouver Whitecaps, who suffered their fifth successive league defeat.

At Carson, California:

Chris Wondolowski (PK-40') and Alan Gordon (49') provided the scoring as the San Jose Earthquakes blanked Chivas USA 2-0 on the road.
