Gregory Garza scored the only goal of the match in the 86th minute as Club Tijuana defeated Monterrey on the road, 1-0, in game one of their two-match series.
At Zapopan, Mexico:
Antonio Rios (26') and Sinha (30') each delivered a goal as Toluca defeated Chivas de Guadalajara 2-1 on the road in the opening match of their two-contest series.
