New Zealand Premiership Playoffs: Auckland City Knocked Off In Wellington In Playoff Opener; Canterbury United Triumphant In Series Opener On The Road

Two games were played on Sunday as the New Zealand Premiership playoffs commenced.


At Wellington, New Zealand:


Johnny Raj scored the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute as Team Wellington defeated regular-season champions Auckland City 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.


At Waitakere City, New Zealand:


Russell Kamo scored the game's lone tally in the eighth minute as Canterbury United defeated Waitakere United 1-0 in the opening match of their two-game series.


Both series will resume next Sunday at Auckland and Christchurch.
