Copa Libertadores: Racing Club, River Plate, Santos Advance To Quarterfinals

Three games were played on Tuesday as the Copa Libertadores' Round-of-16 resumed.

At Rio de Janeiro:

After a 1-1 game-two regulation draw (which left the series leveled at 1-1 on aggregate), and with overtime dispensed with, Lisandro Lopez, Matias Rojas, Leonardo Sigali, Carlos Alcaraz, and Fabricio Dominguez converted their spot kicks as Racing Club de Avellaneda took out hosts Flamengo in the penalty-kick shootout 5-3.

At Avellandea, Argentina:

Diego De La Cruz scored the game's lone goal in the 84th minute as River Plate defeated Athletico Paranaense 1-0 in game two and ousted the Brazilian club 2-1 on aggregate.

At Santos, Brazil:

Despite dropping a 1-0 game-two home decision to LDU Quito, Santos, with the aggregate score at 2-2, still won their series on away goals.
