Wednesday marked the continuation of group stage play in the 2007-08 UEFA Champions League:

GROUP A:

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Bobo scored the game winner at 82 minutes, enabling Besiktas to hold off visiting Liverpool 2-1.

At Marselle, France:

Lucho Gonzalez equalized in the 79th minute with his successful penalty kick, thus lifting FC Porto to a 1-1 road deadlock with Marseille. Mamadou Niang scored at 69 minutes for the hosts.

GROUP B:

At Trondheim, Norway:

Rosenborg, thanks to goals from Yssouf Kone (53') and Vidar Riseth (61'), blanked visiting Valencia 2-0.

At London:

With goals courtesy of Florent Malouda (4') and Didier Drogba (47'), Chelsea posted a 2-0 home win over FC Schalke 04.

GROUP C:

At Bremen, Germany:

With goals courtesy of Boubacar Sanogo (28') and Hugo Almeida (54'), Werder Bremen held off visiting Lazio 2-1.

At Madrid:

Robinho's double (68', 83') helped Real Madrid double up Olympiacos 4-2.

GROUP D:

At Lisbon, Portugal:

Oscar Cardozo scored the lone goal (87') of SL Benfica's 1-0 home win over Celtic.

At Milan, Italy:

Two goals each from Alberto Gilardino (6', 14') and Clarence Seedorf (62', 69') powered AC Milan to an easy 4-1 thumping at home over Shakhtar Donetsk.
