2012 MLS Cup Playoffs: Dynamo, Galaxy Grab Conference-Final Openers

Two games in the Major League Soccer Cup Playoffs were played on Sunday.

At Houston:

Goals from Andre Hainault (51'), Will Bruin (68'), and Kofi Sarkodie (81') enabled the Houston Dynamo to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit and down visiting DC United 3-1 in the opening match of the two-game Eastern Conference Final.  Just before halftime, referee Ricardo Salazar made a no-call on what looked like an obvious foul committed by the Dynamo's Andre Hainault on DCU's Raphael Augusto just outside the Houston penalty area.

The series will move to Washington for Sunday's return match.

At Carson, California:

Robbie Keane scored twice (45'+1, 67') and Mike Magee once (64') as the Los Angeles Galaxy manhandled the visiting Seattle Sounders 3-0 in game one of the two-game Western Conference Final.

The series moves to Seattle for next Sunday second contest.
