At Libreville, Gabon:
After a 1-1 draw through 120 minutes on Wednesday, Ramadan Sobhi, Ahmed Hegazy, Mohamed Salah (who had scored in the 67th minute of regulation), and Amr Warda all converted their spot kicks as Egypt defeated Burkina Faso 4-3 in the penalty kick shootout to advance to Sunday's African Nations Cup final against the winner of Thursday's semifinal between Cameroon and Ghana.
This will be the Pharaohs' ninth appearance in the tournament's championship match, having won in seven of their previous eight efforts, with their most recent success coming in 2010.
The winner of Sunday's game will take part in this year's FIFA Confederations' Cup, set to take place in Russia.
