At Capiata, Paraguay:
Lucho Gonzalez scored the only goal of the match in the 11th minute as Atletico Paranaense defeated Deportivo Capiata 1-0 on the road in game two and won their series with the Paraguayan club 4-3 on aggregate.
At Asuncion, Paraguay:
After Club Olimpia took game two 1-0 at home in regulation to deadlock the series at 1-1 on aggregate, and with overtime dispensed with, Fernando Camilo Farias, Rodrigo Pimpao, and Victor Luis converted their spot kicks as Botafogo of Brazil won the penalty-kick shootout 3-1 to advance to the group stage.
