Paul Robinson scored the only goal of the match at 39 minutes as Millwall defeated Swindon Town 1-0 on Saturday to win the final of the English League One promotion final at Wembley Stadium. The Lions won promotion to the League Championship, joining already-promoted Norwich City and Leeds United. They last played in the second level of English soccer in 2006.

Steve Morrison (23') and Paul Robinson (82') each tallied once as Millwall defeated visiting Huddersfield Town 2-0 Tuesday in game to of their two-match League One promotion semifinal playoff to win the two-game set 2-0 on aggregate. The Lions will face Swindon Town in the final at London's Wembley Stadium on May 29 with the winner gaining promotion to the League Championship.

Daniel Ward's goal at 74 minutes enabled Swindon Town to level their two-match series with Charlton Athletic at 3-3 on aggregate, even though the Addicks took the second game 2-1 in regulation. After 30 scoreless overtime minutes, Jon-Paul McGovern, Charlie Austin, Kevin Amenkwaah, Daniel Ward, and Stephen Darby each made his penalty kick as the visiting Robins took the shootout 5-4. Huddersfield Town were held to a 0-0 home stalemate by Millwall in the opening match of a two-game set in the semifinal round of the League One promotion playoffs on Saturday. The two clubs will go at it again in the return match in London on Tuesday. The winner will face the Charlton Athletic-Swindon Town winner at Wembley on May 29 for promotion to the League Championship.

In the opening game of a two-match semifinal series in the League One promotion playoffs (for a place in the League Championship next season) in England on Friday, Charlie Austin (52') and Daniel Ward (60') each tallied once as Swindon Town took game one at home against Charlton Athletic 2-1. Deon Burton scored a goal at 65 minutes for the visiting Addicks. Game two will take place on Monday in London.
