UCL Group C: Red Devils Finish On Top; Draw For 'Gers and Bursaspor

Group C action from Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League.

At Valencia, Spain:


Anderson's second-half equalizer (62', shown here) lifted Manchester United to a 1-1 road draw with Valencia as the Red Devils finished atop Group C.  The visitors, who will also be playing in the Champions League's Round of 16, got their goal from Pablo at 32 minutes.

At Bursa, Turkey:


Secran Yildirim's equalizer at 79 minutes enabled already-eliminated-from-European-competition Bursaspor to salvage a 1-1 home stalemate with Europa-League-bound Rangers.  Kenny Miller (seen here celebrating) scored at 19 minutes for 'Gers.

Manchester United and Valencia advanced to the Champions League's group stage.  Rangers qualified for the group stage of the Europa League. Bursaspor have been eliminated from European competition.

UCL Group C: Red Devils Win Battle Of Britain and Join Valencia In Knockout Stage

Two Wednesday Group C contest in the UEFA Champions League.

At Glasgow, Scotland:



Wayne Rooney (that's him going past David Weir of Rangers) provided the lone goal of the match with his successful penalty kick in the 87th minute as Manchester United defeated Rangers 1-0 on the road to lock up a berth in the Champions League.  As for 'Gers, they will be playing in the Round of 32 in the Europa League.

At Valencia, Spain:



Roberto Soldado scored twice (21', 55', that's him celebrating with teammates) as Valencia annihilated visiting and already-eliminated Bursaspor 6-1 to nail down a berth in the knockout stage.

Group C play in the UEFA Champions League continued with two games on Tuesday.

At Bursa, Turkey:



Darren Fletcher (48'), Gabriel Obertan (73'), and Bebe (77') each scored once as Manchester United moved on the verge of advancing to the knockout stage with a 3-0 road win over Bursapor, eliminating the Turkish club from knockout stage contention.  Darren (right) and Gabriel (left) proved to be happy campers, as shown here.

Two games were played on Wednesday in Group C as UEFA Champions League group stage action continued.

At Manchester, England:

Nani's goal at 7 minutes (pictured here) stood up as Manchester United downed visiting Bursaspor 1-0.

Maurice Edu scored both goals as Rangers were held to a 1-1 home stalemate by Valencia.  He put his team in front at 33 minutes (pictured here), only to wind up scoring an own goal at 46 minutes to enable the visiting Spanish club to gain a share of the points.
