Terriers Win Penalty Kick Shootout With Cherries To Reach Promotion Playoff Final
At Huddersfield, England:
After a 2-2 draw in match two of their two-game English League One promotion playoff semifinal series, home standings Huddersfield Town and AFC Bournemouth stood deadlocked at 3-3 on aggregate with no away goals rule. Danny Ings put the visiting Cherries ahead with his overtime goal at 104 minutes, only to see the Terriers' Antony Kay equalize one minute later, sending the series into a penalty-kick shootout. Lee Novak, Daniel Ward, Kevin Kilbane, and, with the series winner, Antony Kay, all converted their spot kicks, enabling Huddersfield Town to win the shootout 4-3. The Terriers will face the Milton Keynes Dons-Peterborough United winner on May 29 at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, with the winner joining already-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton in the League Championship next season.

MK Dons Take 3-2 Decision At Home In Promotion Playoff Semifinal Series Opener

Daniel Powell (47'), Sam Baldock (50'), and Angelo Balanta (56') each scored a goal during a ten-minute stretch of the second half on Sunday as Milton Keynes Dons held off visiting Peterborough United 3-2 in the opening game of their English League One promotion playoff semifinal series. Craig Mackail-Smith (8') and Grant McCann (PK-81') each scored what may still be a precious away goal for the visiting Posh.

Donald McDermott's equalizer at 60 minutes on Saturday salvaged a 1-1 home draw for AFC Bournemouth in the opening game of their English League One promotion playoff semifinal series with Huddersfield Town. Kevin Kilbane scored a precious away goal for the Terriers at 22 minutes.
