Wednesday saw the end of Group F action in the UEFA Champions League with two contests.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Robert Lewandowski (that's him celebrating) scored twice (61', 64') as Bayern Munich blanked punchless Dinamo Zagreb 2-0 on the road.

At Piraeus, Greece:

A natural hat trick from Oliver Giroud (29', 49', PK-67') propelled Arsenal to a 3-0 road domination of Olympiacos---and a berth in the knockout stage, relegating the hosts to the Europa League's Round of 32.  Here's Ollie (left), celebrating with Theo Walcott after converting his spot kick.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal (who outscored Olympiacos 5-3 in the two games between the clubs) advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage. Olympiacos qualified for the Europa League's knockout stage.

UEFA Champions League, Group F: Bayern Bash Legend, Win Group Title; Gunners Dominate Dinamo Zagreb, Stay Alive

Two games were played in Group F as group-stage action in the UEFA Champions League resumed on Tuesday.

At London:

Alexis Sanchez scored twice (33' [shown here], 69', ) as Arsenal kept their chances of advancing to the knockout stage alive with their 3-0 domination of visiting Dinamo Zagreb, ending the Croatian club's chances of staying in European competition after the start of the new year.

Douglas Costa (8'), Robert Lewandowski (16'), Thomas Muller (20'), and Kingsley Coman (69', shown here) each scored a goal as Bayern Munich demolished visiting Olympiacos 4-0 and clinched the Group F crown.

Two games were played in Group F of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

At Munich, Germany:

Thomas Muller scored twice (29', 89') as Bayern Munich avenged their road defeat to Arsenal by demolishing the visiting Gunners 5-1.  That's no fish story from Robert Lewandowski after scoring for Bayern in the 10th minute.

Felipe Pardo scored twice (65', 90', that's him celebrating with teammates following his first tally) as Olympiacos defeated visiting Dinamo Zagreb 2-1.

Two Tuesday games were contested in Group F of the UEFA Champions League.

At London:

Olivier Giroud (77', that's [left] celebrating with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after scoring) and Mesut Ozil (90'+4) delivered the goals as Arsenal blanked visiting Bayern Munich 2-0.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Brown Ideye (that's him celebrating) scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute as Olympiacos knocked off hosts Dinamo Zagreb 1-0.

Tuesday saw two Group G matches in the UEFA Champions League.

At Haifa, Israel:

Andriy Yarmolenko (4') and Junior Moraes (50') delivered the goals in Dynamo Kiev's 2-0 road win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.  Here, we see Maccabi's Gil Vermouth being challenged by the guests' Antunes.

At Porto, Portugal:

Maicon Pereira Roque (who was being congratulated here by teammate Maxi Pereira) scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute as FC Porto knocked off visiting Chelsea 2-1.

At London:

Alfred Finnbogason scored the winning goal in the 66th minute (that's him celebrating after scoring) as Olympiacos knocked off Arsenal 3-2 on the road.

Group F play in the UEFA Champions League commenced with two Wednesday contests.

At Zagreb, Croatia:

Junior Fernandes scored the winning goal in the 58th minute as Dinamo Zagreb held off visiting Arsenal 2-1.  It was the hosts first Champions League group-stage victory since 1999 as the champions of Croatia are seen here celebrating.
