UEFA Champions League, Group G: Chelsea Knock Out Dragons, Win Group; Dynamo Kiev In Knockout Stage Too

Two games were contested on Wednesday as Group F action in the UEFA Champions League came to a close.

At Kiev, Ukraine:
Dynamo grab chance to end knockout exile
Denis Garmash (that's him celebrating) scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute as Dynamo Kiev laid claim to a Champions League knockout-stage berth with their 1-0 home win over Maccabi Tel Aviv as the Israeli club completed a perfectly awful campaign.

At London:

Ivan Marcano Sierra (OG-12') and Willian (52', that's him celebrating after scoring the insurance tally) each scored a goal as Chelsea won Group G and advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage by blanking (and relegating to the Europa League's Round of 32) visiting FC Porto 2-0.

1. Chelsea (GP: 6; GD: +10; PTS: 13)
2. Dynamo Kiev (GP: 6; GD: +4; PTS: 11)
3. FC Porto (GP: 6; GD: +1; PTS: 10)
4. Maccabi Tel Aviv (GP: 6; GD: -15; PTS: 0)

Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage.  FC Porto qualified for the Europa League's Round of 32.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Chelsea, Porto, Dynamo Kiev Battle For Knockout-Stage Berths Heading Into Final Match Day; Maccabi Tel Aviv Out Of European Competition

Two games were played in Group G of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

At Porto, Portugal:

Andriy Yarmolenko (PK-35') and Derlis Gonzalez (64') each scored a goal as Dynamo Kiev knocked off FC Porto 2-0 on the road.  Here's the scoring twosome celebrating after Derlis' (left) insurance tally.

At Haifa, Israel:

Gary Cahill (that's him celebrating with Willian after scoring)got the scoring started in the 20th minute as Chelsea blasted Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 on the road and short-circuited the Israeli club's European adventure.  Willian scored himself in the 73rd minute for the Blues.

2.    Chelsea (GP: 5; GD: +8; PTS: 10)

o-Eliminated from European competition

NOTE: Porto defeated Chelsea 2-1 at home on September 29 in the first of two group-stage contests between the clubs.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Wins For Clubs Currently and Formerly Managed By Jose Mourinho; Maccabi Tel Aviv Eliminated

Two Wednesday Group G games were played in the UEFA Champions League.

At Haifa, Israel:
Porto on brink of last 16 after easing past Maccabi
Cristian Tello Herrera (19', that's him celebrating after scoring), Andre Andre (49'), and Miguel Layun (72') delivered the goals as FC Porto defeated Maccabi Tel Aviv 3-1 on the road, eliminating the Israeli club from the tournament.  The Dragons placed themselves, on the other hand, in good position to advance to the Champions League's knockout stage.

At London:
Willian hits late winner to give Chelsea lift
Willian (that's him celebrating) scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute as Chelsea defeated visiting Dynamo Kiev 2-1.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Dragons Blank Maccabi Tel Avia; Goose Eggs For Dynamo Kiev and Blues

Action from Group G of the UEFA Champions League resumed on Tuesday with two games.

At Porto, Portugal:
Porto top Group G after Maccabi success
Vincent Aboubakar (37', that's him celebrating) and Yacine Brahima (41') each scored a goal late in the first half as FC Porto blanked visiting Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-0.

At Kiev, Ukraine:
Dynamo Kyiv and Chelsea play out goalless draw
Dynamo Kiev and visiting Chelsea battled to a 0-0 stalemate.  Here's we see the Blues' Willian battle Dynamo's Domagoj Vida.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Dragons Gain 2-2 Road Draw With Dynamo Kiev; Blues Blow Out Maccabi Tel Aviv

Two games were played on Wednesday as action from Group G of the UEFA Champions League opened.

At Kiev, Ukraine:
Buyalskiy snatches Dynamo draw against Porto
Vincent Aboubakar scored twice (23', 81') as FC Porto gained a 2-2 road draw with Dynamo Kiev.  Oleh Husyev (20'; seen here celebrating after scoring) and Vitaliy Buyalskyi (89') each scored once for the hosts.

At London:

Willian (15'), Oscar (PK-45'+4), Diego Costa (58'), and Cesc Fabregas (78') each produced a goal as Chelsea demolished visiting Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0.  Yep, folks, that's ol' Diego celebratin' after the Blues lopsided victory.
