UEFA Champions League, Group E: Liverpool, Napoli Advance To Knockout Stage; It's Europa League For Red Bulls Of Salzburg

The final week of UEFA Champions League group-stage play commenced on Tuesday with eight games, two of them in Group E.

At Wals-Siezenheim, Austria:

Naby Keita (57') and Mohamed Salah (58'; that's him here, celebrating after scoring) each scored a second-half goal a minute apart as Liverpool blanked FC Red Bull Salzburg 2-0 on the road to lock up top spot in Group E.

At Naples, Italy:

Arek Milik delivered  a natural, first half hat trick (3', 26', 38') as Napoli advanced to the knockout stage of this tournament by demolishing visiting KRC Genk 4-0.

Seen here is manager Carlo Ancelotti, celebrating with his players in what turned out to be his final game as the boss man at Napoli, who dismissed him hours after the match.

Liverpool and Napoli advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage; FC Red Bull Salzburg qualified for the knockout stage of the Europa League.

UEFA Champions League, Group E: Three Teams (Liverpool, Napoli, Red Bull Salzburg) Still Alive For Knockout Stage

UEFA Champions League group-stage play continued on Wednesday with eight games, two of them in Group E.

At Genk, Belgium:

Patson Daka (43'), Takumi Minamino (45'; that's him here, celebrating after scoring), Hwang Hee-chan (69'), and Erling Haland (87') each scored once as FC Red Bull Salzburg kept their hopes of advancing to the Champions League's knockout stage alive after dominating KRC Genk 4-1 on the road, eliminating the Belgian club from European competition.

At Liverpool, England:

Dejan Lovren's equalizer in the 65th minute (confirmed after a video review) carried Liverpool to a 1-1 home draw with Napoli.

UEFA Champions League, Group E: Liverpool Down KRC Genk; Napoli Gain Home Draw With Red Bull Salzburg; Genk Eliminated

The second half of UEFA Champions League group-stage play  opened on Tuesday with eight games, two of them in Group E.

At Liverpool, England:

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the winning goal in the 53rd minute as Liverpool defeated visiting KRC Genk 2-1 to knock the Belgian club out of the tournament.

At Naples, Italy:

Hirving Lozano's equalizer in the 44th minute lifted Napoli to a 1-1 home draw with FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Erling Haaland converted a penalty kick in the 11th minute for the Austrian club's goal (that's him celebrating after scoring.

UEFA Champions League, Group E: Liverpool, Napoli Win On The Road

Group-stage play in the UEFA Champions League reached its' midway point with eight games (two of them in Group E) on Wednesday.

At Genk, Belgium:

At Wals-Siezenheim, Austria:
Dries Mertens scored twice (17', 64') while Lorenzo Insigne scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute as Napoli knocked off FC Red Bull Salzburg 3-2 on the road.

UEFA Champions League, Group E: Red Bulls Demolish Genk; Inauspicious Start To Reds' Title Defense

Group-stage play in the UEFA Champions League opened on Tuesday with eight games, two of them in Group E.

At Wals-Siezenheim, Austria:

Erling Haland produced a hat trick (2', 34', 45') as FC Red Bull Salzburg scored five first-half goals en route to a 6-2 home demolition of KRC Genk.

Dries Mertens (PK-82', that's him here celebrating) and Fernando Llorente (90') each scored once as Napoli blanked visiting Liverpool 2-0, spoiling the opening of the defending champs' title defense.
