UEFA Champions League, Group G: Juve Top Barca, Win Group; Dynamo Kiev Clinches Europa League Berth

 Two games on Tuesday marked the conclusion of Group G play in the UEFA Champions League.


At Barcelona:


Two converted penalty kicks from Cristiano Ronaldo (13', 52') helped enable Juventus to dominate Barcelona 3-0 on the road to clinch top spot in Group G.


At Kiev, Ukraine:


Denys Popov scored the only goal in the 60th minute as Dynamo Kiev locked up a berth in the Europa League's knockout stage after their 1-0 home victory over Ferencvaros.


Final Group G Standings:


1. Juventus (GP: 6; GD: +10; PTS: 15)

2. Barcelona (GP: 6; GD: +11; PTS: 15)

3. Dynamo Kiev (GP: 6; GD: -9; PTS: 4)

4. Ferencvaros (GP: 6; GD: -12; PTS: 1)


Juventus and Barcelona advanced to the Champions League's knockout stage; Dynamo Kiev clinched a berth in the knockout stage of the Europa League.


NOTE:  Juventus outscored Barcelona 3-2 in the two games between clubs.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Wednesday Wins For Barca, Juve

 Two games in Group G of the UEFA Champions League were contested on Wednesday.


At Turin, Italy:


Federico Chiesa (21'), Cristiano Ronaldo (57'), and Alvaro Morata (66') each scored once as Juventus dominated visiting Dynamo Kiev 3-0.


At Budapest, Hungary:


Antoine Guiezmann (14'), Martin Braithwaite (21'), and Masour Dembele (PK-28') each scored once in the first half-hour as Barcelona dominated Ferencvaros 3-0 on the road.


Group G Standings:


1. x-Barcelona (GP: 5; GD: +14; PTS: 15)

2. x-Juventus (GP: 5; GD: +7; PTS: 12)

3. z-Dynamo Kiev (GP: 5; GD: -10; PTS: 1)

4. z-Ferencvaros (GP: 5; GD: -11; PTS: 1)

z-Eliminated from Champions League contention but still alive for Europa League knockout-stage berth


NOTE:  Dynamo Kiev scored two road goals in their October 28 2-2 draw with Ferencvaros; the two clubs will meet again in Ukraine next Tuesday.

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Barca, Juve Advance To Knockout Stage

 Group G play in the UEFA Champions League resumed with two Tuesday contests.


At Kiev, Ukraine:


Martin Braithwaite scored twice (57', PK-70') as Barcelona demolished Dynamo Kiev 4-0 on the road to lock up a berth in the knockout stage.


Sergina Dest became the first American to score for Barca with his goal in the 52nd minute.


At Turin, Italy:


Cristiano Ronaldo (35') and Alvaro Morata (90'+2) each scored once as Juventus locked up a berth in the knockout stage after topping visiting Ferencvaros 2-1.


Group G Standings:


1. x-Barcelona (GP: 4; GD: +11; PTS: 12)

2. x-Juventus (GP: 4; GD: +4; PTS: 9)

3. z-Dynamo Kiev (GP: 4; GD: -7; PTS: 1)

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Barca, Juve Pick Up Wednesday Wins

Two games were contested in Group G of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. 


At Barcelona:


Gerard Pique's goal in the 65th minute proved to be the game winner as Barcelona held off visiting Dynamo Kiev 2-1.


At Budapest, Hungary:


Alvaro Morata scored twice (7', 60') as Juventus dominated Ferencvaros 4-1 on the road.


Group G Standings:

2. Juventus (GP: 3; GD: +3; PTS: 6)

3. Dynamo Kiev (GP: 3; GD: -3; PTS: 1)

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Barca Blank CR 7-Less Juve In Turin; Ferencvaros And Dynamo Kiev Draw In Budapest

 Two games were contested on Wednesday in Group G of the UEFA Champions League.


At Turin, Italy:


Masour Dembele (14') and Lionel Messi (PK-90'+1) each scored once as Barcelona blanked Juventus 2-0 on the road.


At Budapest, Hungary:


Tokmac Nguen (59') and Franck Boli (90') each scored once in the second to carry Ferencvaros back from a two-goal deficit and gain a 2-2 home draw with Dynamo Kiev.


Viktor Tsyhankov (PK-28') and Carlos De Pena (41') each scored once for the Ukrainian club.

1. Barcelona (GP: 2; GD: +6; PTS: 6)

2. Juventus (GP: 2; GD: 0; PTS: 3)

3. Dynamo Kiev (GP: 2; GD: -2; PTS: 1)

UEFA Champions League, Group G: Barca, Juve Start Things On Right Foot

 Tuesday marked the opening of play in Group G of the UEFA Champions League.


At Kiev, Ukraine:



Alvaro Morata scored twice (46', 84', that's him, celebrating with teammates) as Juventus blanked Dynamo Kiev 2-0 on the road.

At Barcelona:


Lionel Messi (PK-27'), Ansu Fati (42'), Philippe Coutinho (52'),  Pedro Gonzalez Gomez (82'), and Masour Dembele (59') each scored a goal as Barcelona demolished visiting Ferencvaros 5-1.
