Sudovans Close Season With Forfeit Win, Get Shot At Europa League Qualifying

The A Lyga match originally set for Sunday in the Lithuanian capital between FC Reo Vilnius and visiting FK Sudova was awarded as a 3-0 forfeit win for the Sudovans.  The hosts had withdrawn from the league back in August and all subsequent originally-scheduled contests with Vilnius were all awarded, under Lithuanian FA rules, to their opponents as 3-0 wins.

With that in mind, Sunday marked the conclusion of the Lithuanian A-League season, with FK Suduva finishing third in the league standings, and along with second-placed Zalgiris (another club from Vilnius), will take part in the first round of qualifying for next season's Europa League.

Ekranas, who beat out Zalgiris by one point for the league crown, will take part in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifying for next season.

FC Reo Vilnius will try to get their act together next season in I Lyga.

Home Draw For Sudovans In Season Finale

At Marijampole, Lithuania:

Serhiy Zhygalov delivered the equalizer in the 38th minute as Kruoja gained a 1-1 Lithuanian A-League road draw with FK Suduva on Sunday.  Rafael Ledesma scored in the 21st minute for the third-place Sudovans, whose season came to a conclusion since their originally scheduled match for next Sunday at FK Reo LT Vilnius was cancelled due to the capital city club's withdrawal from the league.

Sergiy Loginov scored twice (49', 52') as FK Suduva demolished Atlantas 5-1 on the road in Saturday Lithuanian A-League action.

Dominating Home Win For Sudovans

At Marijampole, Lithuania:

Rafael Ledesma scored twice in the first half (15', 45'+2) as FK Suduva dominated visiting Banga 3-0 in Sunday Lithuanian A-League action.

Rafael Ledesma scored twice in the second half (51', 80') as FK Suduva ended their two-game Lithuanian A-League losing streak with a 3-0 Saturday road win over Dainava.

Andro Svrljuga scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute on Sunday as Zalgiris found themselves four points behind league-leading Ekranas following their 2-1 Lithuanian A Lyga road win over FK Suduva.

Arturas Rimkevicius' successful penalty kick in the 90th minute lifted Siauliai to a 1-0 Sunday Lithuanian A Lyga home win over FK Suduva.

Rafael Ledesma (35', 60') and Nerijus Valskis (62', 79') each scored twice on Wednesday as FK Suduva converted visiting Tauras into hamburger after their 4-0 Lithuanian A Lyga victory.

Ignas Dedura (76') and Tadas Markevicius (79') each scored a late goal on Sunday as league-leading Ekranas came back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 Lithuanian A Lyga home draw with FK Suduva.  Rafael Ledesma (60') and Povilas Luksys (71') provided the scoring for the guests.

Tomas Miklinevicius (PK-27') and Irmatas Zelmikas (76') provided the goal scoring as Kruoja held off visiting FK Suduva 3-1 in Saturday Lithuanian A Lyga action.

In their first Lithuanian A Lyga contest since dropping 3-2 home decision on July 1 to Ekranas (having played three games of Europa League qualifying in the process) FK Suduva, with Rafael Ledesma scoring twice in the second half (48', 56'), came from behind to topple FK Tauras 2-1 on the road on Sunday.
