With Fenerbahce (Champions League) and Besiktas (Europa League) banished from European club competitions for next season due to match-fixing allegations, Bursaspor, who finished fourth this past season in the Turkish Super League, will enter Champions League action in the third qualifying round.  Kayserispor (who finished fifth) will take part in the Europa League's playoff round, while Kasimpasa (sixth) will play in the Europa League's third qualifying round and Trabzonspor will play in the Europa League's second qualifying round.

Hugo Almeida scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute as Besiktas defeated visiting Fenerbahce 1-0 in Thursday Turkish Super League Championship Group action.

Yellow Canaries Hand Black Eagles Third Straight League Defeat

Joseph Yobo (14') and Moussa Sow (90'+1) each scored a goal on Sunday as Fenerbahce handed Besiktas their third successive Turkish Super Lig defeat, 2-0 at home.  It was the Black Eagles' third league game in seven days, and they lost them all, being outscored 4-0.

2-2 Draw In Istanbul Derby

At Istanbul, Turkey:

Besiktas battled visiting Fenerbahce to a 2-2 draw in Thursday Turkish Super Lig action.  Simao (12') and Hugo Almeida (72') scored for the Black Eagles while Alex (60') and Cristian Baroni (88') each delivered a goal for the visiting Yellow Canaries.
