MATTRESS MAKERS SMOTHER MARSEILLE, WIN EUROPA LEAGUE TITLE

Antoine Guizemann scored twice (21', 49') and Gabriel Fernandez Arenas (a.k.a. Gabi) once (89') as Atletico Madrid manhandled Marseille 3-0 in Wednesday's Europa League Final.

The title was Atletico's third.

By winning the match, the Mattress Makers would have gained passage to the group stage of next season's UEFA Champions League, but since they will finish second or third in the Spanish top flight, they already locked up a Champions League group-stage berth.

ZLATAN HELPS LEAD PSG TO COUPE DE FRANCE TITLE

At Marseilles, France:

Marseille and visiting Paris Saint-Germain battled to a 2-2 Sunday French Ligue 1 draw.  Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice within a two-minute first-half span (23', 25') for PSG while Andre-Pierre Gignac did the doubled for the hosts.

Jeremy Menez (6') and Alex (61') provided the scoring as Paris Saint-Germain picked up their first French Ligue 1 victory in their last four contests by defeated slumping Marseille 2-1 at home.  The visitors have had 10 defeats and one draw from their last eleven matches in all competitions.
