Doonhammers Stay Hot

At Dumfries, Scotland:

Ryan McGuffie (16') and Nicky Clark (55') each provided a goal on Saturday as Scottish Second Division-leading Queen of the South blanked visiting Ayr United 2-0.  It was the Doonhammers' fifth consecutive victory.

Lee Robinson's PK Save Preserves Home Win For Doorhammers

At Dumfries, Scotland:

Derek Lyle scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute on Saturday as Queen of the South held on for a 1-0 Scottish Second Division home win over Albion Rovers.  Doorhammers goalkeeper Lee Robinson made a superb save on Jason Crooks' penalty kick in the 56th minute to preserve the shutout and victory.  The Wee Rovers have now gone 450 minutes without a goal to start the season.

Late Goal Carries Queen of the South To Critical Road Draw---And Hands Scottish First Division Title (And Promotion To SPL) For Ross County

At Dundee, Scotland:

John Potter's equalizer in the 82nd minute lifted relegation-threatened Queen of the South to a 1-1 Tuesday Scottish First Division road draw with Dundee.  The draw clinched the league title and promotion to the Scottish Premier League for Ross County.  Stephen O'Donnell scored for the Dark Blues in the 53rd minute.
