Home Draw Leaves Blades Still With Hope Of Automatic Promotion

At Sheffield, England:


Richard Cresswell (63') and Matthew Lowton (85') provided the scoring as Sheffield United came back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 Saturday English League One home draw with Stevenage.  The visitors got goals from Joel Byrom (31') and Scott Laird (47').  The Blades trail Sheffield Wednesday by one point for the second and final automatic-promotion spot with one game remaining.  Stevenage find themselves in the final promotion-playoff berth.

STEVENAGE WIN PROMOTION TO LEAGUE ONE

At Manchester, England:


John Mousinho scored the only goal of the match at 41 minutes on Saturday as Stevenage locked up their second successive promotion with a 1-0 English League Two Promotion Playoff final triumph over Torquay United.  Stevenage had concluded their first-ever season in the Football League and will be playing League One soccer next season alongside already-promoted Chesterfield, Bury, and Wycombe Wanderers.

Comeback Draw At Stevenage For Stanley

At Stevenage, England:

Late, dramatic goals courtesy of Terry Gornell (88') and Andrew Procter (90') enabled Accrington Stanley to come back from a two-goal deficit to gain a 2-2 road stalemate with Stevenage in Saturday English League Two action.  Bryan Harrison (7') and Lawrie Wilson (78') each tallied once for The Boro.
