In front of a largely pro-Mexican crowd of 93,723 fans at the Rose Bowl, Paul Aguilar scored the winning goal in the 118th minute as Mexico defeated the United States 3-2 in overtime to win the one-match playoff for the right to represent CONCACAF in the 2017 Confederations Cup, slated to take place in Russia.

Rose Bowl To Host US-Mexico Playoff For Confederations Cup Berth
The Rose Bowl at Pasadena, California will host the October 9 playoff between Mexico and the United States for CONCACAF's 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup berth. El Tri won the CONCACAF Gold Cup title on Sunday while the US won the same tournament in 2013.
