Peter Odemwingie delivered a hat trick (34', 77', 88') as West Bromwich Albion dismantled arch-rivals Wolverhampton 5-1 on the road in Sunday English Premier League action.  The defeat was so lopsided that Wolves slipped back into the relegation zone as unhappy fans vented their frustration toward club owner Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey.

Chris Brunt (8') and Peter Odemwingie (75') provided the scoring on Sunday as West Bromwich Albion defeated visiting Wolverhampton 2-0 in English Premier League action, the first victory for the Baggies in top-flight league play against their arch-rivals since 1982.  The loss marked Wolves' fifth straight defeat, their worst defeat in top-flight play since 1984.

Wolves Top Baggies To Climb Out Of Drop Zone

Steven Fletcher scored twice on Sunday (15', 47') as Wolverhampton climbed out of the English Premier League's relegation zone and up to 17th place with a 3-1 home win over arch-rival West Bromwich Albion.

Late Goal Salvages Midlands Derby Draw For Baggies

Carlos Vela scored a stoppage-time equalizer (90'+2) as West Bromwich Albion salvaged a 1-1 Sunday draw with Wolverhampton (Jamie O'Hara scoring for Wolves at 39 minutes) in the weekend's lone English Premier League contest.

Baggies Return To Top Flight

It turned out to be a one-year stint in the English League Championship as West Bromwich Albion won automatic promotion back to the Premiership on Saturday with 3-2 win over Doncaster.

Not bad for a guy whose club he managed this past season wound up relegated from the English Premiership.

Goals from Steven Gerrard (28') and Dirk Kuyt (63') paced Liverpool to a 2-0 road win over West Bromwich Albion in Sunday English Premier League play. With the loss, the Baggies were relegated into the Football League Championship.

West Brom, Stoke City In Premiership

By clinching top-two finishes in the League Championship this season, West Bromwich Albion (who last played in the top flight in the 2005-06 season) and Stoke City (after a 23-year absence) won automatic promotion to the Barcley's Premiere League.

The next four finshers in order, Hull, Bristol City, Crystal Palace, and Watford, qualified for the playoffs to determine the third and final promoted club.

The bottom three clubs, Leicester, Scunthorpe, and Colchester, were relegated to League 1.

Speaking of League 1:

Swansea and former two-time European champions Nottingham Forest won automatic promotion to the League Championship, with Doncaster, Carlisle, Leeds United, and Southend (the latter two having played at the second level last season) qualifying for the playoffs for the thrid and final promotion berth. The bottom four---Bournemouth, Gillingham, Port Vale, and Luton Town--were sent packing down to League 2

Speaking of League 2:

The top three finishers--Milton Keynes Dons, Peterborough, and Hereford--won automatic promotion to League 1. The next four clubs--Stockport, Rochdale, Darlington, and Wycombe--qualified for the promotion playofs. The bottom two clubs--Mansfield and Wrexam--were relegated from the Football League and are heading down to what is still referred to as the Conference National.
