At New Britain, Connecticut:
Second-half goals from Sam Brill (46'), Joe Germanese (63'), and Taylor Twellman (67') broke open what was a scoreless deadlock and propelled the New England Revolution to a 3-0 win over USL-2 club Richmond Kickers.
At Charleston, South Carolina:
Successful kicks from Osvaldo Alonso, Stephen Armstrong, Darren Spicer, and Timothy Velten enabled the USL-1 Charleston Battery to knock off the Houston Dynamo 4-3 in the penalty kick shootout after the contest was deadlocked at 1-1 after 120 minutes.
At Annapolis, Maryland:
Tallies courtesy of Andrew Marshall (18') and Gary Brooks (75') enabled USL-2 club Crystal Palace Baltimore (despite ending the game with 10 men) to shock the New York Red Bulls 2-0
At Boyds, Maryland:
Marc Burch scored both goals (78', 85') to lead DC United to a 2-0 win over the Rochester Rhinos of USL-1.
At Bridgeview, Illinois:
Mike Banner scored twice (13', 75') and Calen Carr (23') and Chad Barrett (26') each tallied once as the Chicago Fire downed the Cleveland City Stars of USL-2 4-1.
At Frisco, Texas:
Abe Thompson's stoppage-time-for-each-half double (45'+3, 90'+2) allowed FC Dallas to come from behind to defeat USL-1 Miami FC Blues 2-1.
At Cary, North Carolina:
The Kansas City Wizards defeated the Carolina Railhawks (USL-1) 4-2 in overtime. Ivan Trujillo scored twice (68', 94') while Claudio Lopez (PK-82') and Ryan Pore (119') each tallied once for the Wizards.
At Tukwila, Washington:
The Seattle Sounders (USL-1) knocked off Chivas USA 2-0. Taylor Graham (43') and Sebastien Le Toux (80') each scored once for the Sounders.
